Reconstruction of the southern access to the big Appenine Tunnel
Italy
1945 | 1948
The contract saw the reconstruction of the Appennino access tunnels of the Firenze Bologna Railway line, which had been entirely blown up during the war. The section of interest was an overall 350mts. During works, the arch span was reduced from 8,6mts to 4,2mts due to the scaly clay materials. In a second phase it was widened back to the 8,6.
