Ghella supports CURA and Basement Roma

Following the project to support the city of Rome (Ghella x Roma) Ghella supports CURA, a curatorial and editorial platform, founded in 2009, which is developed through a magazine, a publishing house, and an exhibition program, Basement Roma, a few meters from our headquarters.

Basement Roma is a non-profit organization and a self-sustained exhibition space run by CURA. It’s located, since its establishment in 2012, in the hidden basement of the magazine’s editorial office in the heart of the Prati district in Rome.  Basement Roma is devoted to experimentation, discussion and the production of exhibition projects, presentations, lectures, and publishing ventures in collaboration with artists, curators, independent and institutional actors. The exhibition’s program is mainly focused on a new generation of international artists who have never been exhibited in town or even in Italy before.

The curatorial research and critical activity developed by CURA is focused both on the research of new contemporary languages and on the development and implementation of new exhibition formats.

The Membership program that Ghella has joined is based on an exclusive criterion of selection of supporters, visionary people who look to the curatorial research of the project CURA with amazement, interest, and curiosity. Basement Roma and KURA. (MI) can be read as the latest readymade, the empty space that becomes something more, something else, open and playful. The exhibition and editorial projects of 2022 will continue the research of CURA towards new languages, with particular attention to the developments of an ever-changing world.
